Injury worries: Bukayo Saka not fit for England internationals, confirmed Arteta

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Bukayo Saka is not fit to participate in England’s upcoming international fixtures.

Saka missed Arsenal’s Sunday victory over Premier League title contenders Manchester City.

His fitness was questioned when he left the field during Arsenal’s Champions League clash with Lens earlier last week. Many thought he would be back for the City game, but unfortunately, he didn’t.

Despite being included in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for their friendly against Australia and Euro 2024 qualifier against Italy, Saka won’t be taking part in either contest, as reports confirm.

Arteta stated, “No, he will not make it. He has not trained for a single session. He is not available to play football at the moment.”

England boss Gareth Southgate has emphasized that he won’t jeopardize a player’s physical well-being and will heed Arteta’s assessment.

Saka’s absence from the Arsenal lineup brought an end to his 87 consecutive Premier League appearances for the club.

Despite his absence, the Gunners emerged victorious, with Gabriel Martinelli netting a late winner in a closely contested fixture against City.
