“How a female passenger on Enugu-bound plane attempted to open the door mid-flight” – Man shares his terrifying experience

An Enugu-bound flight operated by Ibom Air witnessed a catastrophic incident when a female passenger reportedly attempted to open the plane door mid-flight.

The alarming incident happened on Sunday morning, December 17, 2023, causing distress among passengers and crew members.

Alex Onyia, a fellow passenger on the flight, took to social media to share the harrowing experience, describing it as “terrifying.”

According to Onyia, the unsettling incident occurred during the flight when the woman seated in front of him, positioned near the emergency exit, made an attempt to open the door mid-air.

The swift response from fellow travelers ensured that the woman was restrained before any harm could be done.

Eyewitnesses recall the urgency and tension that filled the cabin as passengers and crew members worked together to avert a potential crisis.

Upon questioning, the woman reportedly responded with a smile, claiming that she merely wanted to test whether the emergency exit door would open.  The motive behind her actions remains unclear.

In the man’s words;

“I experienced a terrifying moment this morning while flying with Ibom Air to Enugu. The woman seated in front of me, near the emergency exit, attempted to open the door mid-flight. We quickly intervened to prevent a potential disaster. When questioned, she responded with a smile, claiming she wanted to see if the door would open. Airlines should be careful on who they allow on those critical seats.”
