EPL: Manchester City stage comeback in 3-1 win against Everton

Manchester City staged a comeback in 3-1 win over Everton at Goodison Park, marking their return since the Club World Cup title.

Despite a slow start that saw them fall behind to a goal by Harrison in the 29th minute, Pep Guardiola’s side remained focused to turn the game around.

The turning point came in the second half, with Phil Foden scoring a brilliant equalizer from long range.

Julián Álvarez put City ahead, converting a penalty. The penalty decision was awarded after Onana was judged to have handled the ball while blocking Nathan Aké’s effort.

City sealed the victory in style as Bernardo Silva extended their lead with a goal just four minutes before the final whistle.

The win takes City into fourth place in the Premier League standings, leapfrogging Tottenham, although they still trail league leaders Liverpool by five points.

On the other hand, Everton finds themselves in a bad position, with just one point separating them from the relegation zone.

Their next challenge will be a visit to Wolves, while City will host Sheffield United on Saturday.
