Dortmund hope to retain Sancho as player lacks desire to return to Man United

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly working on a plan to retain Jadon Sancho at the club beyond the summer agreement with Man United.

According to Bild, the club are considering either extending Sancho’s loan for another season or including him in an exchange deal.

The situation is said to be aided by Sancho’s lack of desire to return to Manchester United, where he has struggled for playing time under manager Erik ten Hag.

Since his return to the Bundesliga in January, Sancho has faced challenges with form and match fitness, attributed to his limited opportunities at United.

Dortmund’s surplus of wingers is seen as a hindrance to the development of other young talents like Karim Adeyemi, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, and Julien Duranville.

This has prompted the rumour of layoffs, to give chance for the younger talents.
