AFL: Enyimba vow to win Wydad AC in African Football League

The reigning Nigeria Professional League Champions (NPFL) are set to face the Moroccan club in a quarterfinal encounter of the inaugural African Football League (AFL).

Enyimba Football Club of Aba have vowed to clinch victory in their match against the Wydad Athletic Club of Casablanca, Morocco on Sunday.

Having secured their first victory in the new NPFL season against Akwa United last Sunday, Enyimba are in high spirits for the upcoming clash with Wydad AC.

The Guardian Nigeria reported that the club’s striker Eze Happy Ekwutoziam is confident about the team’s result in the up coming fixture, stating that they are prepared to face the Moroccans without any form of intimidation.

Ekwutoziam emphasized the hard work and strategic planning that the team have put in to face tough opponents like Wydad AC, one of the continent’s best clubs.

Despite the challenge, he assured fans that Enyimba would not disappoint in the much anticipated game set for 7:00 p.m Nigerian time at the Nest of Champions in Uyo.

“A lot is expected from us, knowing how strong Wydad AC is. They are one of the biggest clubs in Africa but we are not under pressure.

“We have been working hard, keeping shape and working on our strategies on how to eliminate them. A lot is expected from us not just from our fans, but Nigerians and our fans across West Africa. We are not going to let them down,” Ekwutoziam added.
