Soludo calls contractor ‘useless’, terminates road contract over underperformance (Video)
Anambra State governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo terminates the contract with TEC Engineering Nig Ltd, the company responsible for rehabilitating the Niger Street road project in Onitsha over negligence and underperformance.
The Governor made this decision during a visit to inspect the project and found that the contractor did not meet the agreed timelines and conditions set before the contract was awarded.
As a result of the contractor’s negligence and apparent lack of capacity to deliver the job as expected, the Governor terminated both the 2.17km Niger Street road project in Fegge and the 1.1km flood control channel contract.
In his words, “Everybody is complaining that you are useless, and you have not been doing your Job, only today that you knew that the Governor was coming, you came to do eye service.”
In addition to this, Governor Soludo announced plans to renovate the Onitsha South Stadium, transforming it into an Urban entertainment, leisure, and recreational centre that would be family-friendly.
To achieve this vision, a framework will be established to facilitate collaboration between the state sports development commission and Onitsha South local government.
